Retrofit Sump System

Retrofit Sump System

A radon sump is the term given to a small void created in the hardcore beneath the building, this will be approxmately the size of a builder’s bucket. This void creates an area of low pressure which soil gas will now be towards as a new path of least resistance.

Pipework is then taken from the sump to safely exhaust the gas away from the building. A fan is fitted to the pipework to ensure that the gas is being moved away from the sump. The exhaust pipe discharges well away from any doors or windows, usually above the level of the eaves.
